Intermec® ActiveX® Controls is a set of Windows COM/ActiveX components for integrating Intermec devices—such as barcode printers, scanners, and RFID readers—into custom applications. The controls provide methods and events for device discovery and configuration, status monitoring, data capture, and label printing (including pass-through of device command languages). They are commonly used from environments that support ActiveX/COM, such as Visual Basic and C/C++, to accelerate development of warehouse, retail, and field‑service solutions. As legacy technology, these controls typically run in 32-bit hosts, require compatible device drivers/SDKs, and are best deployed in trusted Windows environments where ActiveX security policies can be managed.
